Residential and Student Services Programs (RSSP) is part of the Division of Student Affairs under the associate vice‑chancellor of RSSP. RSSP provides residential student housing, family housing, residential life programs, facilities services (maintenance/design, custodial, desk operations), self‑operated dining services for undergraduate and graduate students and their families, as well as childcare services. RSSP also conducts a year‑round conference business, operates seven campus restaurants and manages several faculty apartments.
PositionSummary
Under the general direction of the Director of Residential Operations and Emergency Preparedness, oversee day‑to‑day, 24/7/365 unit operations of residential facilities, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe living environment. The role includes comprehensive leadership and supervision of unit administrative and student staff, and oversight of critical functions such as space management, key control, maintenance work order tracking, mail services, and customer service issues.
This is an on‑site position with infrequent opportunities for remote work as approved by the Director of Residential Operations.

Responsibilities- Unit Operations & Staff Supervision:
- Responsible for day‑to‑day operations of residential facilities, ensuring adequate front desk staffing meets advertised hours of operation and promoting high‑quality customer service.
- Monitor facility conditions, coordinate and advocate for timely service response from internal departments and outside vendors, ensuring all facility‑related needs are prioritized and met.
- Perform comprehensive routine facilities inspections and communicate directly with residents, guests, vendors and internal staff to coordinate maintenance and guarantee smooth operational flow.
- Supervise a team consisting of an Administrative Assistant, Student Supervisors and Student Assistants handling mail services, work order tracking, key management and customer service inquiries.
- Support year‑round student recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluations, including conducting disciplinary action as needed.
- Complete annual union performance evaluations for the Administrative Assistant and support staff professional development.
- During Summer Conference Season, utilize Star Rez system for critical logistics such as room inspections, unit turnovers, linen exchange, event setup, guest arrivals and departures, conference attendee management and meal‑card distribution.
- Maintain university and personnel records.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Collaborate with the Work Order Center Manager and the Director of Residential Operations to support all residential emergency preparedness programs across RSSP/Housing Facilities.
- Drafter, proofreader and centralizer of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency supply inventory upkeep, business continuity training sessions and all related administrative support.
- Contribute to cross‑unit engagement, ensuring implementation and compliance with established emergency preparedness plans at the unit level.
