Position Summary

The Senior Sales Training Manager for the Anesthesia Business Unit is responsible for developing and implementing the BU Sales Training strategy, while driving other BU training processes to meet the business goals and to enhance overall business unit effectiveness. As an integral part of the Anesthesia BU, this manager will oversee a team that will work in partnership with the BU leaders to ensure optimal field communication and skill development for all sales team members, with added reach and partnership to support creation and delivery of other programs that surface beyond sales.

Those may involve partnerships with teammates from organizational development and human resources. The primary objective for this role is the creation and overseeing the delivery of all commercial sales tactics and associated projects in support of the Anesthesia business unit's strategic goals and objectives.

  • Operate as a field‑embedded training leader, maintaining a remote home office while spending approximately 50% of time in the field partnering directly with sales leaders and representatives to support implementation, coaching, and execution of training initiatives.
  • Provide strategic and hands‑on training leadership through consistent field engagement, onsite facilitation, and in‑person collaboration during key commercial meetings, training programs, and business initiatives.
  • Develop training and development strategies to meet the goals of the Anesthesia business unit. Align BU’s training initiatives with business strategies. Primary focus is delivery of a strategic sales training program that ensures skill mastery for sales representatives to meet selling, product, and clinical competencies.
  • Define critical competency requirements and methodology for competency assessments across all commercial BU segments. Provide needs analysis and learning assessments across all commercial functions.
  • Manage and oversee training programs with focus on coaching, position competency, sales methodology, product competency and commercial management.
  • Develop a sales and product training curriculum for all commercial functions to include sales representatives, Field Sales Trainers (FSTs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Sales Directors (DOS).
  • Oversee the management of the FSTs and Clinical Education Managers as it pertains to their support of the commercial teams efforts to include new hire training.
  • Develop and implement training materials, including audio‑visual materials, e‑learning tools, and hand‑outs.
  • Develop metrics to assess and drive improvement for all training programs in addition to administration of assessments to evaluate student knowledge and performance.
