Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Title: AVP, Regulatory Compliance (Insurance Industry Required)
Location: Atlanta, GA (On-Site 5x a week)
Compensation Range: $,000+Bonus
Vaco is currently partnering with a growing insurance organization in metro Atlanta. The AVP, Regulatory Compliance supports the Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer in building and maintaining a strong culture of compliance and ethics across our insurance industry client and its subsidiaries. This role works closely with teams across the organization to design, implement, and monitor controls, policies, and processes that reduce compliance risk and ensure regulatory requirements are embedded in daily operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe AVP leads or supports the following activities, either directly or through oversight of Regulatory Compliance staff:
Product Compliance:
- Draft policy forms and related documents to ensure new and existing products meet state and federal regulations.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure system coding, processes, and workflows align with product design and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee required state filings (forms, rates, sales materials) and maintain ongoing compliance through updates and amendments.
Sales, Marketing & Communications Compliance:
- Ensure agent training, marketing materials, sales practices, and disclosures meet regulatory standards.
- Review and support compliance of the Company's online presence, including websites, social media, and digital communications.
Operational Compliance:
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams to support compliant policy administration.
- Develop and maintain auditable policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct compliance audits, testing, and monitoring to identify risks or gaps.
- Monitor business activities and metrics to detect potential compliance issues.
Regulatory & Legal Coordination:
- Serve as a primary contact for regulators, law enforcement, and legal entities.
- Participate in anti-fraud, anti-money laundering, HIPAA, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley compliance activities.
- Support home office staff in the sale and servicing of company products.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects related to compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, accounting, or related field (required)
- 10+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, audit, or related functions within the insurance industry (required)
- 5+ years of leadership/management/supervision within compliance – managing a team of 3-5+ employees in this department (required)
- Professional compliance certifications (e.g., CCEP, CRCM, FLMI, AIRC) preferred.
- Strong understanding of life & health insurance products; experience drafting policy forms (required)
- Experience with SERFF and I-File; familiarity with state insurance regulators (required)
- Deep knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Atlanta (5x week - in office) - open to candidates willing to relocate to metro ATL
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
