Reporting to the AVP, Underwriting Quality & Technical Standards within the Underwriting & Product Excellence (UPE) Team, this role offers a unique platform to directly influence the future of PURE’s underwriting practice. This is an ideal opportunity for a high-performing underwriter seeking to broaden their impact, influencing underwriting excellence at scale, strengthening selection discipline, and helping define what “great underwriting” looks like across the organization.

* Create a meaningful development experience for auditors while maintaining high-quality review outputs.
* Foster a culture of constructive feedback, shared learning, and underwriting pride.
** Shape and Safeguard Underwriting Authority
*** Serve as steward of the Admitted Underwriting Authority framework, ensuring authority limits evolve alongside underwriting experience, business complexity, and risk appetite.
* Align delegated authority structure with underwriting development pathways to support efficient decision-making while maintaining strong controls.
* Oversee authority delegation governance, including verifying authority statements are appropriately signed, documented, and aligned with PURE Online permissions.
* Ensure seamless technology enablement of authority rules, including development and maintenance of authority logic within Sapiens Decision.
* Partner cross-functionally to eliminate gaps or overlaps in authority between underwriting and adjacent functions.
** Strengthen Governance & Represent Underwriting in Enterprise Forums

* Oversee quarterly underwriting authority and quality control certifications in accordance with JSOX requirements.
* Coordinate underwriting responses to annual Tokio Marine audits, reinsurance audits, regulatory inquiries, and market conduct exams.
