Description
Develop, set, and execute strategic goals in alignment with Medic’s vision.
Develop staff to meet performance expectations and support established goals through performance management, leadership and team building.
Direct the Agency's project management efforts.
- Maintains and facilitates the improvement of the project management structure, tools, and resources.
- Identifies, develops, and mentors new project personnel, including improvement advisors or coaches, sponsors, team leaders, and team members.
- Ensures ongoing competency, quality, and consistency through the development and delivery of continuing education to all levels.
- Advises individual team leaders and project teams on project management best practices to solve problems and for professional development.
Direct the Agency's strategic planning efforts.
- Manages the cyclical components of the Agency's strategic planning to ensure compliance and that internal and external stakeholder expectations are met.
- Develops, modifies, and executes strategic planning activities to achieve successful outcomes, in both the short- and long-term.
- Serves as the Agency's subject matter expert and process advisor for all Agency strategic planning activities.
- Develops and delivers educational content on strategic planning to promote participation among members of Leadership Team.
- Contributes to the organizational vision as a member of Management Team and through daily direction of assigned teams.
Direct the Agency's comprehensive continuous quality improvement program
- Manages quality improvement, assurance, and control practices and personnel to monitor, evaluate, and improve system performance.
- Educates, develops, and mentors staff to ensure high competency and performance to provide reliable and consistent expertise.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in all aspects of continuous quality improvement.
- Directs evolution of improvement and monitoring practices to promote positive outcomes.
- Facilitates engagement of appropriate resources to address priority areas identified by the quality improvement program.
Manages the prehospital research program.
- Designs and implements research studies to investigate internal research priorities.
- Develops and delivers reports, manuscripts, and presentation of internal research efforts.
- Conducts analysis for internal research and advises members of the research team and EMS fellows on best practices.
- Supports Medic's involvement in national research efforts through onboarding, training, and management of research team members.
Ensure team members create and maintain necessary processes to achieve departmental success and process linkage in support of Agency mission and purpose.
Support and drive improvement methodology in alignment with Agency practices throughout all areas of responsibility. Drive innovation within your departments and throughout the Agency.
Develops, analyzes and monitors variety of information and supporting data to include organizational KPI, department dashboards, performance goals, and financial measures to drive department performance.
Serves as a member of the Agency's Director Team, Management Team and Leadership Team.
Position is considered essential personnel.
Education / Experience- BA/BS.
- Formal project management certification (IHI IA/IC or PMP).
- Demonstrated knowledge of complex, highly technical strategic and improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to oversee staff.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment involving complex issues.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Master’s degree.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning and quality improvement work.
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
This is a hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC. The incumbent will be expected to work on site at Mecklenburg EMS Agency on a regular basis, with flexibility for remote work as responsibilities allow.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONSThis position requires the ability to work in excess of standard 40-hour workweek to manage responsibilities.
SALARY RANGECommensurate with experience.
