Position SummaryThe Outbound Manager manages and coordinates the outbound logistics of an individual client location under the supervision of the General Manager. They partner with current and potential motor carriers to maintain client capacity. This position conducts operational analyses and audits outbound procedures to monitor and improve operational efficiency and client satisfaction. The Outbound Manager supervises a team comprised of Assistant Outbound Managers and Operations Coordinators.

- Drive, maintain, and evangelize the company culture, purpose, and core beliefs through hands‑on training, effective onboarding, and selection of new Extra Milers within the location.
- Oversee the daily outbound operations of a location and ensure compliance with company, client, local, state, and federal policies and regulations.
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with organizational standards to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Oversee weekly operator settlements based on set agreements, including back‑charge process and supplementation assessments.
- Supervise personnel: work allocation, training, problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Maintain a professional appearance and set an example for employees.
- Conduct daily stand‑ups with service providers and teams, ensuring performance rankings are accurate and updated daily; interpret and share location KPIs with key stakeholders.
- Partner with motor carriers to facilitate compliance and capacity for the client.
- Supervise the motor carrier check‑in process at the start of each day.
- Advise Extra Milers on safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances, and related matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and administering practices equitably.
- Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively; take corrective action as necessary in a timely manner in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain upkeep and maintenance of all assigned assets, both from RLX and the client.
- Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred. - 2‑4 years of distribution and/or supply chain operations experience with at least 2 years of managerial experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel.
- Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exhibit a professional demeanor when dealing with conflict.
- Ability to coach and develop employees.
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to the workplace and attend client meetings as necessary; may involve traveling within the region for the client.
