Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Project Manager for a mission-driven real estate development organization focused on community and affordable housing. This role is hybrid
, with 2 days onsite in Ventura, CA (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and remote work on other days.
The Project Manager will lead development projects from planning through completion, managing schedules, budgets, and consultant teams while collaborating with internal staff and external partners. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex financing, entitlement, and construction processes. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and passionate about creating inclusive, affordable housing solutions.

- Manage projects from site evaluation and entitlement through construction and lease-up
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and local agencies to ensure timely, high-quality project deliverables
- Prepare budgets, financial models, and funding applications; monitor project cash flow and schedules
- Oversee construction progress, contracts, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams, partners, and community stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement of departmental processes and templates
- 3+ years of project management experience in affordable housing or real estate development
- Proficiency in project budgeting, financial modeling, and development underwriting
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits
- $75,000 – $90,000 annual salary
