Job Summary

In this role, you will lead a team to execute and manage subcontracts and monitor operations. You will develop the subcontracting strategy, operating procedures, staffing plan, and the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan. You will review and approve bid details, commitments, and negotiations. Your oversight will ensure project subcontracting is consistent and that requirements have been implemented. This position is designated as part‑time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.

Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities
  • Participate with the project team on a large project in defining and developing the scope of Contracts work, and in preparing and coordinating Contract plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets
  • Contribute Contracts input to the preparation and/or modifications of the project’s prime contract
  • Supervise assigned personnel in the orderly performance and completion of project subcontracts through the bid, evaluate, award, and administer process with established policies and procurement procedures
  • Prepare and/or direct preparation of commercial terms and conditions for use on all project contract documents, ensuring that requirements of the prime contract are incorporated
  • Coordinate Contract execution plan with Engineering and Construction plans and operations to ensure that input from these disciplines will enable Contracts to perform its functions in accordance with project plans
  • Review commitment approvals and execution/signature authorities and ensure commitments are made in accordance with Corporate and Contract policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement a Subcontract Formation Program for the project consistent with the Corporate Procedures and the Subcontract/Contract Formation Guidebook
  • Analyze the subcontract commercial terms and conditions to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts, or deviations from the scope of work
  • Make recommendations to the Project Manager on the mitigation of these risks and closely monitor and support remedial actions and recommend appropriate tradeoffs
  • Maintain a working relationship with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Legal and Risk Management to facilitate organizational interfaces between those performing subcontract formation and management activities
  • Work effectively with Legal and Risk Management to negotiate bidder exceptions to terms and conditions
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Requires bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and 13–15 years of relevant experience or 17–19 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Experience and courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling
  • Thorough knowledge of subcontract formation procedures and documents relating to a multi‑discipline construction project
