Neighborly Communities is seeking a Regional Director of Operations to join our team in Utah.

Pay Range: $78,000-$88,000 DOE.

General Description

The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for the operational oversight of a portfolio of Neighborly Communities’ multifamily properties, working collaboratively with the Director of Property Management to support portfolio performance. You will oversee community managers, ensure compliance with fair housing laws, review financial and property operations, coordinate with asset management and ownership, and exemplify the organization’s core values.

This role requires consistent in‑person presence at assigned communities and is not structured as a remote position.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversee property and financial operations of multiple communities.
  • Conduct constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Prepare and conduct 3A+ SAM meetings with direct reports.
  • Manage direct reports in accordance with 3A+ principles.
  • Visit all assigned communities at least once a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administration, improvement, maintenance, and operations of the assigned multiple properties.
  • Ensure compliance with all fair housing regulations.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports, including performance standards, asset management reports, budget reports, and delinquency reports.
  • Oversee community managers to ensure operational policies and procedures are followed for lease expirations/renewals, market surveys, census reports, applicant screening, application processes, resident file audits, and move‑in/out procedures.
  • Serve as a resource for all team members, ensuring completion and reporting of 3A+ SAMs and adherence to operational policies.
  • Maintain expertise in property management platforms (e.g., Res Man, Tenant Tech, Leonardo, Meet Elise, Rentana, SharePoint).
  • Schedule, prepare for, and conduct monthly 3A+ SAM meetings with your supervisor and report outcomes to Human Resources.
  • Familiarize yourself with the job duties of supervised staff.
  • Embrace the principles of the Outward Mindset.
  • Complete all assigned training through Grace Hill and additional required classes such as Outward Mindset Gatherings, Outward Performance, and other relevant courses.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle difficult or emotional employee situations professionally and with an outward mindset.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Low‑Income Housing programs and compliance requirements (for affordable communities).
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to interact effectively with others, applying the principles of the Outward Mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, property management software, and Tenant Tech systems.
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in Property Management with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; OR high school diploma and 5‑10 years of relevant experience in multi‑family property management.
  • At least five years of management experience, preferably managing multiple properties in different locations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • LIHTC compliance preferred for affordable housing properties.
  • Fair Housing certification.
  • Property management accreditations such as CPM and/or ARM through IREM, CAM through the National Apartment Association, or RMP/MPM through NARPM are considered assets.
