Job Summary
Project Manager - Water Asset Design. Responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets, contracts, and stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities- Manage project proposals, determine requirements, scope, resources, programme, and cost estimates.
- Own P&L and commercial and financial accountability, including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budgets, forecasts, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing, and cash collection.
- Develop project management documentation: plans, cost estimates, forecasts, risk registers, schedules, stakeholder registers, and organisation charts.
- Monitor and control project schedule, man‑hours, budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.
- Ensure effective contract management, including administration and change management.
- Manage work performed by project team members, ensuring outputs meet project requirements.
- Manage project deliverables, information, and records.
- Communicate relevant project information to the project team and customer accurately and effectively.
- Anticipate and take pre‑emptive action to address issues and potential conflict situations that may impact project delivery.
- Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams consisting of technical/professional staff and suppliers.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and capture lessons learned.
- Proven experience in the delivery of infrastructure projects (experience in the regulated water industry and/or non‑regulated water projects highly advantageous but not essential).
- Working knowledge or accreditation in NEC supported with necessary technical and practical skills to administer NEC Contracts.
- Membership of professional institutions such as APM, PMI, or MICE.
- Proficiency in use of project management tools and software.
- Demonstrate competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management.
- Hybrid working policy: work from home up to two days a week and collaborative onsite days.
