Berndt CPA LLC is seeking a client‑centric, strategic Outsourced Accounting Director / Senior Manager to lead and grow our outsourced accounting and advisory practice. This position is ideal for a CPA who excels in client relationships, team leadership, and value‑driven advisory services in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Position Summary

The Outsourced Accounting Director / Senior Manager is responsible for leading outsourced accounting engagements and delivering high‑level advisory services. This role combines relationship management, team supervision, and strategic insight while contributing to business development and firm leadership initiatives.

Description of Duties Client Management & Advisory
  • Serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of entrepreneurial business clients.
  • Provide fractional CFO services including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and technology solutions to drive client success.
Engagement Oversight
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly outsourced accounting services.
  • Review financial statements and compliance deliverables for quality and timeliness.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise and mentor a team of staff and senior accountants.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and client‑focused team culture.
  • Provide performance feedback and support professional development.
Process Improvement
  • Lead operational efficiency initiatives through workflow design and automation tools.
  • Help refine service delivery models for entrepreneurial clients.
Practice Growth
  • Participate in firm growth initiatives including business development, proposal writing, and networking.
  • Represent the firm in the community as a thought leader and subject matter expert.

  • CPA license required, bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 6-10 years of accounting experience, with tax and client‑facing responsibilities
  • Public accounting background and familiarity with small/mid‑size businesses preferred
