Public Works Director

Position Purpose:

Manages the administration, operations, and staff of the Public Works Department in the areas of equipment maintenance, infrastructure, and public improvements. In coordination with other City Departments, it provides support in project management in the areas of street maintenance and storm water drainage. Serves as ADA Coordinator in matters relating to the public and public area of the City of Rifle.

This is generally an in-person position that is not eligible for regular remote work.

Experience and Training:

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Colorado Licensed P.E. is preferred.

Job Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Ability to pass a background and MVR check with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle.

Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job: At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of public works or civil functions with a minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience.

This a full-time position with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance as well as retirement, vacation, sick and holiday pay. The wage range is $ - $ annually depending on experience and qualifications. This position is open until Sunday, June 21st.
