# Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.
This project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress with early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.
The candidate will act as the
** Area Manager
** for an assigned area within the project. The candidate may start in the home office in Reston or Cheyenne, Wyoming, to support preconstruction planning, ahead of project mobilization to the field. This position is contingent upon project award.

Job Summary:
The
** Area Manager (Switchyard / GIS)
** is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of a single construction project, serving as the primary contact and ensuring effective coordination among different disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders. This role oversees site operations, including safety, quality, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and compliance with engineering specifications and corporate policies. Key duties include maintaining client relationships, managing contracts and expenditures, implementing security and community relations plans, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards while delivering the project within scope, time, and budget.

# Major Responsibilities:
** Leadership/Supervision*
* + Manages the organization and direction of construction and related activities of a single construction project, including actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.
+ Acts as primary client contact for all project field activities.
+ Oversees total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and craft resource personnel as applicable.
+ Maintains client relationships and is the primary contact for client's communication with the field activities and effective relations with other functional departments.
+ Oversees jobsite expenditures for labor equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within the budget.
