Job Summary:

The Managing Director - Organizational Engagement is a new leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering high‑impact convenings, partnerships, committees, fulfillment operations, and cross‑departmental initiatives. Reporting to the SVP of Strategic Engagement, Access Lex Institute, and the COO of Helix Bar Review, this role serves as a strategic connector and operational leader—ensuring that complex, highly visible engagement efforts are aligned, meticulously executed, and reflective of the Company’s mission and standards of excellence.

The Managing Director leads the Convenings and Events function and directly manages the Assistant Director of Sponsor ships and Partnerships and the Assistant Director of Committees and Support. Through this talented team, the Managing Director oversees a portfolio of mission‑critical work that brings together internal teams, partner institutions, external stakeholders, and industry leaders in a unified and intentional way. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable setting strategy, managing complexity, and rolling up their sleeves to ensure consistent, high‑quality execution across initiatives that span departments, timelines, and audiences.

Responsibilities

And Duties Strategic Leadership and Organizational Alignment
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for organizational engagement efforts, ensuring alignment across Access Lex Institute and Helix Bar Review.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to translate organizational priorities and strategic plans into coordinated, high‑impact initiatives.
  • Serve as a central point of alignment across teams, ensuring clarity, consistency, and momentum.
Convenings and Events
  • Provide overall leadership for the strategy, planning, and execution of all Company convenings and events, including internal, partner‑facing, and industry gatherings.
  • Ensure all events are purpose‑driven, operationally sound, and reflective of the Company’s standards for quality, professionalism, and impact.
  • Oversee long‑term convenings planning to support evolving organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
Partnerships, Sponsor ships & Committees
  • Lead the strategy and execution of sponsor ships, partnerships, and advisory committees that advance organizational goals and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure committee structures, materials, communications, and experience are well‑designed, thoughtfully prepared, and aligned with leadership expectations.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with external partners, institutions, and advisors through intentional, high‑quality engagement.
Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for convenings, partnerships, sponsor ships, and Committees.
  • Develop and implement new processes that advance the department’s goals and improve effectiveness for all stakeholders. Provide guidance, structure, and accountability to ensure work across teams is prioritized effectively and executed with precision.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, attention to detail, and continuous improvement within the Organizational Engagement team.
Cross‑Departmental Collaboration and Execution
  • Partner with teams across the organization—including Marketing, Programs, Finance, Operations, and Leadership—to ensure seamless execution of shared initiatives.
