POSITION SUMMARYThe Category Manager is the business owner of one of the company’s lighting portfolios in the Canadian commercial market. This role has full responsibility for category strategy, financial performance, roadmap execution, and market success to ensure profitable growth and competitive differentiation of the portfolio.
The Category Manager leads a team dedicated to a specific segment and works cross-functionally with engineering, project management, sales, marketing, operations, and quality teams to ensure successful product launches, strong market positioning, and effective adoption through distribution channels.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:CATEGORY STRATEGY AND MANAGEMENT
- Define and lead the category strategy to support portfolio growth, profitability, and competitive positioning.
- Establish the product roadmap, investment priorities, pricing direction, and target segments.
- Monitor category performance and recommend actions to optimize the portfolio.
- Drive portfolio growth and profitability by leading product development initiatives, lifecycle management, and offer optimization.
- Collaborate with engineering, project, sales, and marketing teams to deliver successful launches and strong market positioning.
- Define go-to-market strategies, support sales tools, and monitor launch performance to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Coach, engage, and develop the product management team while ensuring clear alignment on category priorities and objectives.
- Support the team in executing day-to-day activities, development projects, and product launches.
- Promote a market-driven, performance-oriented, and cross-functional collaborative approach.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in product, category, or segment management, ideally in lighting, controls, or building systems.
- Experience leading teams and supporting performance development.
- Excellent communication skills and strong proficiency with computer tools, including the MS Office suite.
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
- Good knowledge of the lighting industry; knowledge of Net Suite is considered an asset.
- Availability for occasional travel within Canada.
