Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager
Auto-Owners Insurance invites your application for the IT Division Project Lead role, where you will manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of company projects.
We offer a merit‑based work‑from‑home program. After initial in‑person training, this role may allow up to three days per week of remote work, though occasional presence in our Lansing, Michigan technology office is required.
Responsibilities- Coordinate work for projects involving multiple team members
- Create and execute project work plans to meet changing needs and requirements
- Help identify resources needed and work with leaders to assign individual tasks
- Prepare and review project‑related documents prepared by the team before passing them on to stakeholders
- Effectively apply project management methodologies and best practices
- Perform risk analysis and recommend actions to mitigate risk
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Ensure projects meet stakeholder objectives
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated track record of effectively working with individuals from different backgrounds and experience levels
- Proven performance delivering high‑quality solutions on individual projects
- Strong problem‑resolution skills and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to facilitate team meetings and handle project conflicts within and outside the team
- Strong understanding of complex project concepts
- Inspiring leadership that motivates team members to attain goals and pursue excellence
