Job Overview
At Motorola Solutions, we help people be their best in moments that matter. The Software Deployment and Integration services team is responsible for the delivery of Command Center projects to our public safety customers. The projects include large statewide, regional, and major municipal applications such as CAD, Mobile, Records Management, Crime Analysis, Jail, Video, Emergency Call Handling/Next Gen 911 solutions, Asset Management Solutions, and other applications used in the Command Center.
CompensationTarget Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 USD
Responsibilities- Lead large programs or portions of very complex programs up to $10M.
- Direct and coordinate the work activities of project teams.
- Have people management experience; may be responsible for managing other project managers or technical people supporting program objectives as direct reports.
- Capable of managing/supervising other disciplines/technology within a project.
- Communicate with key customer stakeholders.
- Comprehend and participate with sales on the overall strategy of the project to increase revenue.
- Conduct needs assessments and requirements gathering.
- Define and develop program scope, objectives, detailed plans, budgets and metrics for large projects and/or portions of complex projects.
- Manage projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance.
- Ensure adherence to program plan, quality metrics and budgets for projects.
- Recommend corrective actions and implement changes.
- Identify and mitigate risks; develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
- Procure internal and external resources.
- Allocate project staff with required competencies to meet project objectives.
- Act as primary interface to internal teams.
- May manage challenging vendor relationships.
- Provide direct communication to relevant senior stakeholders.
- Lead moderately-complex communications and/or negotiations with internal or external clients.
- May provide input into proposal preparation, statements of work and specifications, and estimation of costs.
- Identify and manage program enhancements and process improvements.
- Conduct project reviews throughout the life of the project.
- Create a motivated team environment with support, engineering, other SI resources, and resources from other departments, as needed.
- Proactively gather lessons learned throughout the project.
- Utilize best practice project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.
- Allocate all necessary resources to ensure projects meet financial and customer satisfaction goals.
- Remote position based in the United States.
- Willing to travel 75%.
- Prior people management experience.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Project and similar applications for project schedule planning.
- Experience with project risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies.
- Self‑motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Preferred PMP Certification.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, pass and maintain CJIS Security and Privacy:
Privileged Role certification requirements.
- High School diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, IT, Management, or Technology.
- 5+ years of Public Safety and Project Management experience managing complex deployments and/or software application deployments for state and local public safety government agencies.
- Must be able to obtain a background clearance as required by our government customers.
