This Role In Summary

Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate for a Payroll Specialist, Human Resources (Senior Representative, Payroll) role to join our Global Human Resources organization. This role will be onsite at Amana, IA. In this role you will support payroll activities for the Whirlpool U.S. payroll team by providing face‑to‑face support for local inquiries, applying local policies and practices, supporting time and attendance processes, and delivering local training to supervisors on the system for timesheet maintenance.

Responsibilities Will Include
  • Compiling necessary time and attendance data from Whirlpool’s automated timekeeping system in order to perform bi‑weekly payroll
  • Performing data audit checks to ensure completeness and accuracy of required payroll information
  • Collaborating with other support functions to ensure adjustments and deductions are submitted for payroll
  • Maintaining confidentiality in dealing with employee records and payroll information with a high degree of quality and accuracy
  • Supporting local payroll administration, including inquiry and issue support for case management requests
  • Knowledge of local HR policies and procedures impacting payroll
  • Prioritizing competing requests while ensuring payroll deadlines are met
  • Participating in activities as needed (i.e., system testing, KPI’s, reporting, special project support, SOX audits, etc.)
  • Being responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of documentation while championing continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in Payroll, Timekeeping or Data Entry
Preferred Skills And Experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree or actively working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Google suite (mail, sheets, docs)
  • Experience with automated timekeeping systems (Kronos/UKG)
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
  • Strong communications skills – verbal, active listening, written
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Able to enforce compliance requirements
  • Well organized with attention to detail and follow‑up skills
  • Ability to prioritize with varied timelines and be results oriented
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Solid problem‑solving and analytical skills needed to troubleshoot problems with urgency
