Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Legal Corporate Counsel to build and strengthen our compliance framework as we mature into a larger, more visible organization. This role will proactively identify risk, design scalable compliance programs, and ensure we are prepared for regulatory scrutiny across jurisdictions.

You will partner closely with executive leadership, HR, Finance, Operations, and external counsel to embed compliance discipline across the business.

Compliance Program Development
  • Design and enhance the company’s global compliance framework
  • Develop and maintain policies, codes of conduct, and internal controls
  • Lead compliance risk assessments across functions and jurisdictions
  • Establish governance processes aligned with a scaling, multi-entity organization
Regulatory & Corporate Compliance
  • Oversee compliance with applicable corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory laws
  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements (U.S., Canada, EMEA as applicable)
  • Ensure readiness for financing due diligences, certification audits and regulatory inquiries
  • Support board-level governance requirements and reporting
Risk & Governance
  • Identify emerging regulatory risks tied to growth, new markets, or new product lines
  • Support executive leadership and the board in compliance reporting
  • Build scalable internal controls appropriate for a larger enterprise
Ethics & Investigations
  • Lead internal investigations related to code of conduct, regulatory concerns, or whistle blower complaints
  • Partner with HR on sensitive employment and misconduct matters
  • Ensure defensible documentation and proper escalation protocols
Data Privacy & Cross-Border Compliance
  • Support global data privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Advise on cross-border regulatory exposure
  • Coordinate with external counsel on international matters
Training & Culture
  • Develop compliance training programs for leadership and employees
  • Promote a culture of accountability and proactive risk management
  • Advise leaders on practical risk mitigation in real time
Qualifications
  • 6–8+ years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house)
  • Strong background in corporate compliance and regulatory matters
  • Experience designing or managing compliance programs in scaling organizations
  • Experience leading internal investigations
  • Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with operational reality
  • Member of the Quebec bar
