What Your Job Will Be LikeAre you passionate about benefits programs and people? If so, Organization 03510, Benefits, is currently seeking a high‑energy and highly motivated Benefits Manager to lead the Health Plans and Open Enrollment Organization! One will join a dynamic team charged with developing creative solutions for implementing and administering Sandia Benefits!
The selected candidate will be responsible for all aspects of medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision programs, health reimbursement & flex spending accounts, adoption assistance programs, education programs, program compliance (e.g., ERISA, IRS, DOL, etc.), and annual open enrollment for all active employees and retirees.
On any given day, one may be called on to:
- Develop strategic plan/program design, implementation, communication, and management of health plan programs (e.g., medical, and voluntary benefits for active employees and retirees)
- Energize the organization by leading, managing, mentoring, and developing all members of the staff to deliver positive business and organizational outcomes
- Shape the future by providing strategic direction, align functional priorities and integrate with other HR and other Lab partners with Sandia's strategic objectives, and drive innovation and change to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range$117,500 - $199,700
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, plus 8 years related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L‑level security clearance
- 5 years experience leading and/or managing large‑scale benefit programs
- 4 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) Certification
- Experience with financial management of a multimillion‑dollar fringe budget, COBRA, FSA, HRA, Dependent Eligibility, and Claims Data Warehouse, and management of numerous benefit vendor procurement contracts
- Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certification
- Experience using analytics to inform business decisions
- Familiarity of assessing utilization of benefit services
- Proven experience utilizing technology to optimize workflows and increase efficiency in health benefits management
- Experience leading change initiatives
- Ability to successfully manage and complete multiple program projects
