Remote/Hybrid, Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager – Auburn Hills, MI.
Job OverviewPosition:
Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager. Work model:
Hybrid (2–3 days in office in Auburn Hills per week, remaining remote).
Work hours:
Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. with overtime as needed. Travel to job sites required. Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year plus bonus up to 15%. Limited relocation assistance and sign‑on bonus available. - The project manager leads environmental site assessments, remediation, redevelopment, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for managing client expectations and sustainability goals.
- 5–10 years of direct brownfield redevelopment experience (Phase I & II site assessments and remediation).
- At least 5 years of project management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, CERCLA, state brownfield programs).
- Stable work history with demonstrated client relationship management and project delivery success.
- Experience advising clients and municipalities on redevelopment incentives.
- Business development and proposal‑writing experience.
- Proven mentoring skills for junior staff.
- Familiarity with financial management – budgets, cost tracking, and collections.
- Manage all phases of redevelopment projects, including site assessment, remediation, design, and construction.
- Advises clients and municipalities on redevelopment incentives.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Collaborates with public and private stakeholders, including developers, local governments, community groups, and consultants.
- Leads or supports development of project proposals.
- Develops and manages project budgets, tracks costs, and monitors schedules.
- Defines project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
- Identifies and mitigates project risks and resolves issues.
- Establishes QA/QC goals and assists in achieving them.
- Leads multidisciplinary teams of engineers, environmental scientists, planners, and contractors.
- Provides ongoing communication with clients regarding the project.
- Prepares client billing and manages collections.
- Identifies additional scope and revenue opportunities and participates in business development.
- Mentors PEA Group staff and cultivates strong client relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to manage staff and multi‑discipline projects.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and seek new clients and services.
- Effective written and verbal communication with independent judgment.
- Self‑motivated and capable of motivating others.
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Strong mentoring skills and excellent problem‑solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail and sound financial management understanding.
