Job Advert SummaryJoin Woolworths as a First Line Manager at our Fulfilment Centre, where you will lead and manage operational processes to achieve excellence and meet service levels cost-effectively. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will drive team performance using scorecards and continuous improvement strategies. Your role includes managing resources, ensuring compliance with processes and policies, and fostering strong relationships across all stakeholders.

- Grade 12 certificate is mandatory.
- At least three years’ experience in supply chain management within a managerial or supervisory role.
- Relevant management or supervisory training is required.
- Diploma in logistics or commerce, or equivalent NQF level 6 advanced certificate/diploma is preferred.
- Strong understanding of logistics, distribution processes, and supply chain operations.
- Proven ability to manage resources, consumables, and operational assets efficiently.
- Knowledge of process compliance, corporate governance, and relevant legislation (e.g. OHASA, SHE programme).
- Competent in PC literacy, capable of capturing data and producing accurate reports.
- Experience in retail or FMCG environments and quality assurance methodologies like Six Sigma is advantageous.
- Ability to lead teams, foster high-performance culture, and handle employee relations effectively under pressure.
- Lead and manage daily operational processes to ensure achievement of service levels and cost targets.
- Drive team performance using scorecards and continuous improvement methodologies such as INVOCOM.
- Implement and monitor compliance with all operational procedures, including receiving, picking, and dispatch.
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, consumables, and technology, to optimize productivity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in line with Service Level Agreements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and administration for transactional and operational excellence.
- Develop, coach, and motivate team members to build a high-performance culture aligned with company values.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance, company policies, and relevant legislation such as OHASA and SHE programmes.
- Contribute to talent management initiatives, including performance management, succession planning, and employee relations.
- Work flexibly and efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and customer service focus.
