Founded by Seth Klarman in 1982, The Baupost Group is a Boston-based hedge fund managing approximately $30 billion in assets. The firm is known for its rigorous value-investing philosophy and invests across multiple asset classes including public equities, credit, real estate, and private investments.

Role Overview This full-time remote executive role is responsible for managing business operations and partnering closely with senior leadership to translate firm-wide strategy into actionable plans, performance metrics, and execution roadmaps. The Senior General Manager will work across all business functions to ensure operational excellence and strategic alignment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage cross-functional initiatives and ensure effective coordination among teams
- Develop and optimize operational processes, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement in systems and workflows
- Lead and mentor high-performing teams; oversee budgets and resource allocation
- Prepare executive-ready reports and support firm-wide planning discussions
- Partner with risk management and compliance teams on governance and oversight matters
- Represent operational priorities across all firm departments
- Maintain strong relationships with key external partners Qualifications
- Strong strategic and operational leadership experience, with proven ability to translate high-level objectives into measurable execution plans
- Financial and analytical acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and decision support for senior leadership
- Demonstrated people leadership capabilities including team building, performance management, and fostering a high-integrity culture
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to present to executives and influence without direct authority
- Experience in investment management, financial services, or a research-driven institutional setting strongly preferred; familiarity with multi-asset-class investing is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) beneficial
- Comfort and effectiveness working in a fully remote environment with disciplined self-management and digital collaboration skills
