We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead a multi‑location field service business specializing in commercial doors, dock equipment, and related mechanical systems.
This role oversees branch managers across approximately 8 locations, each operating as a smaller business unit ($2M–$10M in revenue). You will be responsible for driving operational consistency, improving performance, and scaling the business.
This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong field understanding and the ability to lead teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop branch managers across multiple locations
- Drive operational performance, revenue growth, and profitability
- Standardize processes across branches while maintaining flexibility
- Monitor KPIs, P&L performance, and operational metrics
- Support hiring, training, and development of technicians and managers
- Improve service delivery, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Partner closely with executive leadership on growth strategy
- Approximately 80% travel initially across branch locations
- Travel decreases over time as teams stabilize
- Remote / work from home when not traveling
10+ years of experience in:
- Overhead door, dock equipment, or mechanical service industries
- OR similar field service environments
- Experience managing multi‑site or branch‑based operations
- Strong understanding of service technicians and field operations
- Proven ability to improve performance and scale operations
- Comfortable in a hands‑on environment
- Direct experience with overhead doors
- Dock equipment
- Industrial or commercial door systems
- Experience in a growing or private equity‑backed business
- Exposure to acquisitions or operational integration

The salary range listed does not include bonus, additional compensation perks.
