Job DescriptionThe Oregon State Police in Springfield, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full‑Time, Permanent Business Operations Supervisor 1 position. This is an in‑office position without the opportunity for a hybrid or remote work schedule.
Summary of
Job Duties:
As the Central Region Office Manager, you will manage the day‑to‑day operation for the Central Region Captain, staff, and supervise all the regional support staff employees. You will also oversee some administrative operation for the Springfield Area Command.
You will provide administrative review, oversight, and recommendations for administrative functions throughout the offices in Central Region. You will be the hiring manager for non‑sworn employees within the region.
In this position, you will assist the Region Captain and other agency management in the administration of agency programs and operations, and coordination of communications relating to the implementation and usage of those programs to Area Command and Work Site personnel throughout Central Region.
Minimum Qualifications /Eligibility RequirementsThree years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience
OR
A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Preferred Skills- Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning, process improvement, and coordinating diverse resources to achieve defined objectives.
- Proficient in leveraging computer systems and software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite) to analyze complex issues, identify problems, and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership in staff management, including recruitment, hiring, budgeting, training, performance evaluations, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
- Skilled in interpreting and communicating rules, regulations, statutes, and administrative policies to ensure compliance and clarity.
- Effective in resolving disputes and fostering collaboration to promote positive outcomes and support team cohesion.
- Must be LEDS certified or be able to obtain certification within the first six months of employment.
- May be required to obtain Oregon Notary Public.
- Will be required to participate in State sponsored training to become a SPOTS card (Department credit card) holder. Must meet criteria and attend necessary training.
Eligible veterans and Oregon National Guard service members (current and former) who meet the qualifications of the position will be awarded candidate preference.
