The Branch Vice President coaches, develops and leads all branch employees to achieve individual, branch and organizational growth goals while delivering excellent member service experiences and maintaining operational excellence. This key position is accountable for creating, implementing, and maintaining branch strategies aligned with VyStar’s objectives in a fast‑paced environment. The VP also develops tactical plans, establishes objectives for the branch available in the annual business plan, and promotes decisions of the credit union and management.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure day‑to‑day branch operations, choreography, and implementation result in excellent service experiences, achieving or exceeding organizational strategic goals and profitability.
  • Train, encourage, enable, and coach employees to embrace VyStar’s Standards of Excellence, Behaviors of Excellence, and the Great 8 Member Service Commitments to establish and grow strong member relationships.
  • Model all VyStar Excellence behaviors while performing job duties.
  • Develop staff for succession planning within the branch network and other lines of business.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Training to ensure recruiting and training curriculum are appropriate and a positive experience for VyStar employees.
  • Partner with internal departments that rely on referrals for branch success.
  • Establish and validate performance objectives for the branch consistent with VyStar Excellence and branch scorecards.
  • Reinforce appropriate employee activities and behaviors to achieve personal, branch and organizational objectives, course‑correcting when necessary.
  • Provide ongoing coaching for the ABM and direct reports, including side‑by‑side evaluations, member assist call assessments, monthly performance reviews, and career progression discussions.
  • Conduct daily team huddles and weekly sales meetings that include product training and skill practice to increase knowledge and confidence in making recommendations to members.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation and administering of performance appraisals for all levels of Branch Management and indirect reports.
  • Support and participate in all Credit Union initiatives and campaigns.
  • Analyze data to determine and implement staffing changes and modifications as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, procedures and perform audits, adhering to solid risk management guidelines in a highly regulated environment.
  • Collaborate with Branch Operations Analysts to ensure compliance where applicable.
  • Exhibit a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness and professionalism at all times.
  • Work from home during branch closures, such as during disaster recovery events.
  • Lead community service supporting the VyStar brand and create an inclusive environment where all team members are respected and diversity is valued.
  • Support high school branch and collegiate employees, including mentoring, training, and development of student interns while ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Resolve member concerns independently and, when necessary, escalate complex issues.
  • Provide counseling and appropriate financial recommendations to members and employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Proactively identify, assess, manage and report risks within their domain of work, maintaining vigilance to safeguard operations and support compliance with regulatory mandates.
Education
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
  • 4+ years in a customer service, sales, community service, military service, or leadership role.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a lead role within a financial institution.
