Position: Business Project Manager, AMI (Hybrid Schedule)

Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered. Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs.

These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Position

Business Project Manager, AMI

Essential Functions
  • Leading the Project Management process of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and closing projects
  • Leading Business Project Teams and partnering with IT Project Managers on capital projects
  • Acting as a coordination role to manage the work and asks of the team
  • Delivering business value and key outcomes
  • Communicating regularly and directly with Executives and/or Leadership as appropriate
  • Preparing and delivering presentations summarizing project accomplishments, risks and mitigation action, budget and timeline status and next steps/planned work and deliverable dates
  • Representing the Customer Group business organization on project teams in varying capacities, managing any and at times all of the Project Management process functions:
    Project Integration, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resources, Stakeholders, Communications, Risks, Procurement
Qualifications
  • Technical Knowledge/Skill:
    Ability to consistently demonstrate the Project Management Leadership Triangle:
    Leadership (knowledge/skills/behaviors needed to guide, motivate and direct a team), Strategic & business intelligence (knowledge/expertise in industry & organization to enhance performance and better business outcomes) and Technical project management (knowledge/skills/behaviors in project, program and portfolio domains)
  • Deliver on clarity and alignment of strategy, mission, goals and objectives, and priorities
  • Ability to establish clear progress measures, set decision‑making priorities and plan for inevitable changes
  • Strong ability to manage multiple cross‑functional endeavors among multiple organizations, entities and regulatory bodies
  • Ability to multi‑task and shift among multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate complex project information to audiences through both written and spoken communications
  • Demonstrate initiative and personal ownership; high‑level communication and listening skills
  • Highly developed relationship‑building and emotional intelligence abilities
  • Strategic and tactical project management skills; strong detail orientation and thoroughness
  • Strong customer focus orientation; strong understanding of Agile concepts, teams and methodologies
Education

A Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, related degree or the equivalent combination of education and related experience is required. A Master’s degree is desirable.

Experience

Five (5) plus years of progressively responsible project management experience that includes project‑related Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and Closing experience on strategic business initiatives. Experience with in a regulated environment is highly preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

PMP Preferred.

  • Read and respond to large volumes of email on various topics; set daily and weekly priorities and work‑plans for self and project team members
  • Participate in meetings both in‑person and virtually with colleagues, leadership, on‑shore and off‑shore contractors and consultants; schedule meetings; develop meeting agendas; facilitate discussions and decision making and capture and track meeting action items
