Traveling Remediation Project Manager

Soil Remediation, Demolition, Civil construction, or Dirt experience is a requirement to join this team.

Clean Harbors is seeking a Traveling Remediation Project Manager to join our national traveling team. The Remediation Project Manager is primarily responsible for running remediation projects at customer project sites and supervising crews of laborers and operators while managing the project. This field-based role requires traveling typically 4 weeks at a time and then working from home one week before returning to the field.

$80,000+ DOE, with annual bonus plan

Travel

Will travel as needed to various project sites; typical rotation is field based for 4 weeks followed by work from home for a week. This travel schedule is not negotiable.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Serve as a Project Manager for Clean Harbors Environmental Construction group for environmental, civil construction, and demolition projects
  • Primarily responsible for proposal preparation, including cost estimates, work scopes, and schedules
  • Supervise crews of laborers and heavy equipment operators in the field
  • Act as an agent of business, developing relationships with key customers and understanding their concerns and priorities
  • Provide engineering and technical support to field service offices
  • Assist with procurement for projects including materials, equipment rental, temporary labor, and subcontractors
  • Provide timely, concise, and relevant information to superiors and subordinates
  • Enforce health and safety policies; measured by district’s health and safety record
  • Work closely with the Director of Health and Safety to resolve issues in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological engineering, geology preferred, hydrogeology, environmental sciences or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of demonstrated Project Management experience in environmental remediation/dirt work
  • Cost estimating experience and ability to develop and present Project Change Orders
  • Supervisor experience or experience running crews in the field
  • Ability to review and interpret technical specifications and drawings
  • Strong customer management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing remedial sites
  • Valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record required
  • Ability to shave for respirator fit test
  • Ability to travel
Physical Requirements
  • Physically demanding; must navigate varying site conditions, steep slopes, rugged terrain, and walk several miles per day; lift 50 pounds unassisted; wear PPE that may restrict movement
  • Requires walking and standing for extended periods, sitting in vibrating equipment, climbing, pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping, crouching, and balancing; speak, listen, understand, and write English; color determination, depth perception, clarity of vision, 20/20 eyesight (corrected or uncorrected)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and personal appearance; facial hair must comply with company’s respiratory protection facial hair policy
