Job Overview
The Manager, Care Management Support, contributes to the administration of care management. The role provides non‑clinical support to the assessment and evaluation of members’ needs and requirements, helping members and families achieve and maintain optimal wellness by guiding them toward appropriate resources. The Manager works within specific guidelines, applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems, and determines approaches, resources, schedules, and goals for assignments received in the form of objectives.
Responsibilities- Decide on resources, approaches, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives within the department.
- Collaborate across departments and conduct briefings and area meetings.
- Maintain frequent contact with other managers across the department.
- Lead up to 15 Associates, ensuring high‑quality support and development.
- Must reside in Illinois.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 3+ years technical experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- 3+ years management experience.
- Ability to conduct briefings and area meetings with excellent organization and communication.
- Passion for improving consumer experiences.
- Proficiency with electronic information applications, including electronic medical records.
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting data trends.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Critical thinking, organization, written and verbal communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Master’s degree in business or related field.
- Previous experience working in a managed care field.
- 5+ years of management/supervisor level experience.
- Knowledge of community health and social service agencies and additional community resources.
Up to 15 Associates.
Hours & ScheduleMonday‑Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible with schedule if needed) with rotating on‑call/oversight during weekends and holidays.
Location & TravelHybrid Office – primarily operate from the company office with occasional work from home. Occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.
Work From Home Requirements- Minimum download speed 25 Mbps and upload speed 10 Mbps; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection recommended.
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connections allowed only if approved by leadership.
- Humana will provide telephone equipment suitable for the position.
- Work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
USD 78,400 – 107,800 per year. The compensation range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual qualifications. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
