This is not a role for someone who prefers sitting behind spreadsheets.
An established African property investment and development group is seeking a commercially astute, resilient CA(SA) to become a key member of the leadership team. Operating across multiple African territories, this role requires a hands-on finance leader who is comfortable making tough decisions, holding people accountable, navigating complexity and taking ownership when challenges arise.
The successful candidate will be a mature professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach. This is an environment where initiative, accountability and execution matter far more than hierarchy or corporate politics.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Group financial strategy, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning.
- Present financial performance, risk and strategic insights to the Board and key stakeholders.
- Manage and mentor finance teams across multiple African territories.
- Drive the implementation and execution of Group strategy through robust financial planning.
- Oversee Group liquidity, treasury and cash flow management.
- Manage relationships with auditors, shareholders, financial institutions, tax authorities and external advisors.
- Lead the optimisation of a Group-wide ERP system.
- Review consolidated financial statements, tax submissions and statutory compliance requirements across various jurisdictions.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and developments through sophisticated financial modelling, including IRR, ROI and project feasibility analysis
. - Strengthen governance, controls, risk management and operational effectiveness across the Group.
You'll thrive in this role if you're pragmatic, decisive and comfortable operating in environments where things don't always go according to plan. You are the type of person who sees a problem, takes ownership and gets it resolved.
This is a business that values substance over status, action over talk and accountability over excuses. You'll work closely with an entrepreneurial leadership team that appreciates straight communication, mutual respect and people who simply get things done.
If you're looking for a highly visible leadership role where you can make a genuine impact across Africa, we'd like to hear from you.
