Position: Court Services Supervisor 1 (Civil)

Remote Work

The position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. A multifactor authentication app and high speed home internet access are required.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $64,962.45 to $ for Schedule A, and $64,962.45 to $ for Schedule

B. Newly hired individuals start at the minimum of the range. Current Judiciary employees receive a 5% increase on promotion or advancement, not exceeding the maximum of the range. Employees hired before August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule A; others are Schedule

B.

Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Civil Division Manager), the successful candidate will monitor, assign, coordinate, evaluate, review, lead, and supervise the work activities and staff resources of a team consisting of paraprofessional and support staff employees. The supervisor evaluates team and program performance, recommends improvements, develops team goals, implements operating procedures, conducts performance evaluations, determines staff training needs, arranges and conducts staff training programs, mentors and coaches staff, provides direction and feedback, and performs professional court service functions and other supervisory duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of paraprofessional and/or professional experience, including one year in case management, enforcement of court orders, or supervision, monitoring, and intervention of offenders.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis, with one year of experience equaling 30 semester hours. An associate degree and two years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree or a law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may substitute for additional general experience as indicated above.

Note:

Degrees conferred outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.

Driver’s License

Appointees must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license only if vehicle operation is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work

US citizenship is not required. Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the United States in accordance with Department of Homeland Security and US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Special Note

Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that includes fingerprinting. All data received will be kept confidential except to inform the individual of findings and any resulting action.

Residency Law

Newly hired employees must establish and maintain a principal residence in New Jersey within one year of hire, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7. Exemptions may be requested for hardship or employer critical need.
