Role Summary

Director, Global Marketing – POC/MDx

Strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for defining and executing an integrated, market‑driven portfolio strategy for Quidel Ortho’s Point of Care (POC) and Molecular diagnostic businesses. This role articulates the global value proposition, differentiates the product portfolio, drives sustained revenue growth, and leads cross‑functional teams to deliver effective marketing, commercialization, and partnership initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, refine, and implement the Global POC & Molecular Product Portfolio Strategy and multi‑year roadmap; prioritize investments, assess market dynamics and financial returns, and collaborate with Regional Marketing and Commercial teams.
  • Segment global markets, identify product gaps and growth opportunities, and work with Product Management to strengthen the portfolio.
  • Define and validate target customer needs; translate them into differentiated portfolio opportunities and value propositions, and create messaging, tools and communications to support adoption and sales effectiveness.
  • Lead global messaging, positioning, pricing and packaging strategies across the product lifecycle; develop competitive positioning to differentiate Quidel Ortho’s offerings.
  • Collaborate with Regional Commercial partners to align on market needs, competitive differentiation and growth opportunities; analyze sales performance, pricing, margin and financial data to inform go‑to‑market plans and investment decisions.
  • Develop and support market development initiatives, value‑creation programs and successful commercialization of existing portfolio and future pipeline assets.
  • Lead people and talent development: coach direct reports, drive talent management, optimize organizational structure, and establish succession planning for future marketing leaders.
  • Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive leadership experience in global marketing, portfolio strategy or product management within a complex, competitive, global organization.
  • Proven experience leading global or regional Marketing and/or Product Management teams and influencing cross‑functional partners beyond direct reporting lines.
  • Strong business and financial acumen in market assessment, portfolio strategy, competitive dynamics and global commercialization.
  • Demonstrated global leadership with executive presence, collaborative mindset, and highest integrity; ability to influence senior stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations and Medical/Scientific Affairs.
  • Experience in Point of Care and/or Molecular Diagnostics strongly preferred.
  • Travel: willing to travel up to 15% overnight, domestically and internationally; no visa sponsorship.
Travel & Work Environment

Typical remote office environment; requires disciplined organization, self‑motivation and ability to work autonomously in a home office.

Benefits

$170,000

USD to $195,000

USD base salary with bonus potential. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid holidays.
