Job Description

Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the delivery of the Command Center Software (CCSW) HW/SW Platform migration tasks and will act and be recognized as the leader / focal point for all aspects of assigned project(s). The PM must deliver contractual scope on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction. PM tools such as schedule, critical path analysis, budget, change order, risk assessment, and action item log will be used to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions.

The PM allocates all necessary resources to meet objectives, corporate financial, and customer satisfaction goals. The PM communicates directly with the customer’s organization and relevant senior stakeholders internally throughout the life of the project. The PM also bears responsibility for the overall pre‑tax profit of all projects. This is a remote position with approximately 50% travel; qualified candidates can reside anywhere in the US but must live near a major airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • A project manager is accountable for accomplishing the stated project objectives within the stipulated time period and budget.
  • Ensures that the three constraints (quality, cost and time) that face every project are properly managed.
  • Leads programs or portions of very complex programs.
  • Directs and coordinates the work activities of the project team.
  • Demonstrates a firm understanding of all nine areas of PMBOK project management and has expertise in two areas.
  • Experienced in running project phases.
  • Oversees development of the complete project plan.
  • Establishes, tracks, and audits project budgets, analyzes variances, and develops action plans as required.
  • Represents the organization on projects and may perform in project leadership role.
  • Manages project staff including reporting, administration and communication.
  • Plans and tracks project deliverables.
  • Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects.
  • Assists in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Works with the Scheduling team and Engineering Management team to ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develops a project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manages and communicates changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Reports and escalates to management as needed.
  • Manages relationships of all project resources.
  • Identifies and communicates defects found in build of material, part numbers, and software versions to appropriate product planners to solve quality and reliability issues that impact upgrades.
  • Supports and helps drive project close‑out tasks, ensuring a successful project upgrade.
  • Leads and drives efficiency using tools that promote Project Management best practices.
  • Continuously improves Project Management efficiencies and drives those efficiencies.
