Freese and Nichols is looking for Sr. Project Manager – W/WW Transmission and Utilities in Charlotte, NC
. In this role, you’ll lead complex W/WW conveyance and utility projects and serve as a trusted project manager for Charlotte-area utilities. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, deliver high-quality solutions, and help grow key client relationships in a market where credibility and follow-through matter.
- Lead W/WW transmission and utilities projects from planning through design and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships as a trusted project manager for Charlotte-area utilities.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to deliver work that meets scope, schedule, and budget.
- Make independent engineering decisions on complex problems and adapt methods and techniques to fit project needs.
- Manage project execution, including risk management, change management, and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Oversee quality control for technical deliverables, reports, and contract requirements.
- Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff through coaching, review, and feedback.
- Support business development by contributing to pursuits, proposals, and client strategy for key accounts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- 8+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods.
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients, internal teams, and project stakeholders.
- Established credibility and trusted relationships with Charlotte-area utilities.
- Experience delivering W/WW transmission and utilities work (for example, conveyance programs, transmission mains, pump stations, lift stations, or condition assessment/rehabilitation planning tied to conveyance systems).
- Demonstrated seller-doer strengths, including client development and growing key accounts.
- Experience administering and implementing contracts for complex consulting engagements.
- Active participation in relevant professional organizations and continuing education.
