We are seeking a Manager of School‑Age Programs to work under the Senior Director of QUALITYstarsNY and develop the QSNY model for school-aged children.
Primary LocationOFFICE OF SR. UNIV DEAN FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with central office staff and external partners to plan phased integration of SACC‑licensed programs into QSNY.
- Facilitate strategic planning, project management, and input gathering for launching support for SACC‑licensed programs.
- Collaborate with the Data and Ratings team to ensure a smooth rating process and platform functionality.
- Plan and facilitate the testing phase of the continuous quality improvement model with school‑age programs, identifying successes and growth areas.
- Serve on the QSNY leadership team, shaping long‑term implementation plans.
- Contribute to budgeting, communication, data systems, and reporting decisions.
- Implement quality control systems for contract and grant deliverables.
- Support data review to inform practices aligned with state priorities.
- Respond to data analysis and write progress reports.
- Monitor and track budget allocations for training and resources.
- Contribute to development of staff manuals and data systems.
- Support hiring and onboarding of new QSNY staff.
- Create and implement a recruitment plan for 10‑20 new QSNY participants after the testing phase.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and represent QSNY at events.
- Develop partnerships with key agencies across the state.
- Maintain efficient records as part of the administrative team.
- Deliver on‑site technical assistance and mentoring to SACC program leaders.
- Provide ongoing support between site visits, including ordering materials and facilitating training.
- Maintain up‑to‑date Quality Improvement Plans and monitor progress.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- 5+ years in a leadership role in a school‑age child care program.
- 3+ years coaching and technical assistance/training to staff within SACC programs.
- Knowledge of NYS SACC Regulations.
- Deep familiarity with school‑age program strengths and needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent record‑keeping and analytical skills using digital platforms.
- Highly organized and flexible.
- Strong relationship‑building skills.
- Reflective nature.
- Comfortable with competing and shifting priorities.
- Sound judgment and decision‑making.
- Deep sense of commitment and integrity.
- Travel regularly to various QSNY locations and partners across the state.
- Master’s Degree in public administration, education, or related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams.
- Experience running multi‑site SACC programs.
- New York State SAC Credentialed Professional.
- Experience as a SAC Advisor or Endorser.
- Experience with Project Management software.
- Ability to work at the QSNY office in midtown‑NYC with a 70% onsite‑remote schedule.
Physical Requirements
- 70/30 hybrid position; remote work is discretionary.
- Standard office equipment used.
- Physical activities include lifting up to 20 lbs, bending, reaching, and prolonged sitting; accommodations provided.
- Travel regularly to QSNY locations and partner agencies across the state.
Pay Range: $80,000 – $85,000
