Job Title

Clinical Senior Project Manager / Associate Director (Global role, Multisponsor) – Remote US & Canada

Job Responsibilities

Provide customer‑focused leadership in managing and delivering the operational and financial aspects of one or more clinical projects from proposal development to final deliverables, ranging in size and complexity from single‑service studies to full‑scope, multi‑protocol projects and global projects across various phases and functional areas, with limited interaction from supervisor.

May oversee less experienced Project Managers (PMs) and have line management responsibilities.

Project Leadership and Delivery
  • Manage a project as Project Manager, overseeing interdisciplinary clinical research programs ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCPs), relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Company and the Customer to ensure project launch, conduct, and closeout per contractual agreements.
  • Lead the clinical team to ensure quality, timelines, and budget management.
  • Accountable for financial performance and project deliverables for assigned projects/regions.
  • Coordinate activities and deliverables of all project conduct partners and proactively identify and manage issues.
Reporting and Communication
  • Maintain project information on databases and systems, track progress, and evaluate timelines.
  • Prepare and present project material at internal and external meetings.
  • Oversee development and implementation of project plans in accordance with Controlled Documents.
  • Direct activities of assigned Project Support staff; line manage and mentor team members and clinical staff.
  • Prepare project management reports for clients and management.
  • Implement resource strategies, contingency planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
Business Development
  • Participate in bid defense meetings where presented as potential project manager/director.
  • Develop strong relationships with current clients to generate new/add‑on business.
  • Maintain current awareness of the therapeutic environment and drug development trends.
Management
  • Train and support new Project Managers.
  • Facilitate team training per protocol and/or project requirements.
  • Line manage project management team members and clinical monitoring staff (as needed).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in life sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice/ICH guidelines, regulatory requirements, drug development process, and clinical monitoring procedures.
  • Experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) and/or relevant therapeutic area preferred.
  • Strong time‑management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to mentor staff.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% as required.
