Position Summary
Collins Aerospace, a division of RTX, is seeking an experienced project lead for the Military Avionics Flight Management Applications department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The role is hybrid, working either in Cedar Rapids, IA or Huntsville, AL, with remote work possible based on the candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a cross‑functional Agile team daily, coordinating with engineering and project management to ensure success of product and program deliverables.
- Oversee program and internal project scope for the ARR‑7000, MFMS‑1000, and TSS product lines.
- Manage quality, cost, scheduling, and scope while navigating team dynamics.
- Collaborate with product architects, VSL, and business development to define product line roadmaps and secure funding for mission readiness.
- Demonstrate time‑management skills, multitask, and coordinate work across functions.
- Apply optimization methods and risk‑management tools to large or complex projects.
- Monitor budgets, cost, effectiveness, and reliability; recommend resource optimization and spending prioritization.
- Travel domestic and international up to 35% if required.
- U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Degree in STEM or equivalent; minimum 10 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 7 years experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- DO‑178 or similar certification‑based development experience.
- Experience designing and developing production or consumer‑facing deliverable software.
- Experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
- Agile development experience.
- Project management, earned value, and risk management experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD – 251,600 USD.
Work Location and TravelThe position is hybrid; remote work is possible. Travel domestic and international up to 35% may be required.
