The salary range for this position is $74,551.38 to $ for Schedule A and $74,551.38 to $ for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For existing Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will equal an increase of 5 % of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.
Judiciary employees hired prior to August 29, 2015 are considered Schedule A; newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule B.
The Monmouth Vicinage is seeking a Pretrial Services Supervisor to lead the vicinage Pretrial Services Program. The selected candidate will manage a team of Pretrial Services staff and serve as a liaison and resource for Pretrial Services within the vicinage, the Pretrial Services Unit in Criminal Practice, and with local stakeholders (e.g., Prosecutor, Public Defender, County Jail, etc.). The role includes staffing for first appearance/CJP hearings, providing accurate reports to judges for pre‑trial release decisions, monitoring program compliance, reviewing statistical reports, identifying and correcting issues, and recommending program improvements.
The supervisor will also conduct performance evaluations, provide guidance and training to staff, and engage in community outreach related to criminal justice reform. This position requires availability during holidays, evenings, weekends, and other required duties.
The Judiciary offers a hybrid work schedule. This position may qualify for up to two days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. Eligibility requires a multifactor authentication app on a phone or tablet and high‑speed home internet access.
QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three years of professional experience, including at least one year of case management, enforcement of court orders, or supervision, monitoring, and intervention of offenders.
- Availability to work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or holidays.
- Applicants lacking a bachelor’s degree may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year‑for‑year basis, with one year of such experience equal to 30 semester‑hour credits.
- An associate degree with two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
- A master’s degree may substitute for one year of general experience, or a law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may substitute for two years of general experience.
- Driver’s license valid in New Jersey is required only if vehicle operation is necessary for essential duties.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States in accordance with Department of Homeland Security regulations.
- Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that includes fingerprinting.
- Newly hired employees must establish a principal residence in New Jersey within one year of hire.
Court Services Supervisor 2 is an unclassified position. The Judiciary retains the non‑reviewable right to remove employees in this position; removed employees may be placed in another position if feasible.
