Lead strategic oversight as a volunteer Board Member with CPAWS while supporting Canada’s conservation efforts. This remote role requires a commitment of 4–8 hours monthly, starting September 2026.
The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) seeks seasoned professionals for its National Board of Trustees. Ideal candidates are current or former executive leaders with governance experience in national organizations. The board plays a crucial role in ensuring financial sustainability, monitoring performance, and safeguarding the mission alignment of CPAWS and SNAP Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set long-term strategic direction for the organization
• Ensure financial sustainability and fiduciary oversight
• Monitor organizational performance and risks
• Oversee and evaluate the National Executive Director
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
Requirements:
• Experience as a CEO, Executive Director, or C-suite executive
• Governance experience in non-profit or corporate settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to the organization’s mission
• Familiarity with strategic decision-making processes
