Claim Operations Supervisor – Strategic Comp Division
Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Claim Operations Supervisor to lead a growing team that supports multiple jurisdictions in our Strategic Comp division. The role is based in the Central or Eastern time zone and can be performed remotely.
Responsibilities- Manage daily activities, procedures, and financial transactions of the Claim Operations Team.
- Assign, coordinate, and review work activities of associates.
- Assess and control team quality, productivity, and workflow using management controls and reports.
- Make recommendations to senior leadership based on observations.
- Enforce policies and procedures to ensure the team successfully supports all internal and external business partners.
- Conduct audits and assess associate work product as appropriate.
- Monitor shared mailboxes for volume, productivity, completion, and accuracy.
- Arrange associate work schedules to ensure business continuity and team coverage.
- Evaluate direct reports regarding talent selection, development, and performance management.
- Ensure the team meets performance targets; identify lower performing associates and provide additional support or training.
- Meet regularly with team members to discuss results, challenges, opportunities for improvement, productivity, and to obtain general feedback; provide 1:1 training as needed.
- Effectively onboard new team members and collaborate closely with associates to ensure success.
- Proactively and consistently provide team status reports to senior leadership.
- Build system knowledge to instruct associates on processing workflows and automated systems, including Microsoft Office, Claim Connect, Claim Center, Ops Now, Doc Ex, Cognos, and others.
- Facilitate implementation of company programs and procedures related to claim operations and support change management processes.
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence and diplomacy; interact positively and effectively with business partners to address issues, inquiries, and escalations.
- High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of workers’ compensation operations or claims experience, including at least 2 years of team management experience.
- Knowledge of or experience completing mandatory forms is preferred.
- Must reside within the Central or Eastern time zone.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently with a variety of internal and external contacts.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working from home.
Work‑from‑home position. Non‑exempt in California and Washington. Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000.
