Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
At Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive, provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic staff member to join our Operations and Organizational Development (OOD) Division as a Business Project Manager.
The Business Project Manager is responsible for collaborative planning and execution of Human Services projects. The role designs and drives project plans from conception to completion, ensuring timelines are met and leadership is kept informed. It involves managing initiatives ranging from software implementations to strategic business transformations, defining scope, allocating resources, managing budgets, and establishing RACI frameworks.
This position is a hybrid role requiring at least one day per week in the office. Adequate internet access and a suitable remote workspace are required. Larimer County provides a one-time remote work stipend to support equipment and office supplies for remote work spaces. What you'll be doing:- Providing project tracking, updates, and analysis of key performance indicators throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing, creating, and executing project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget baselines, to meet the changing needs of the project sponsor.
- Managing project interrelationships to avoid resource conflicts and to ensure timely delivery of multiple interrelated projects.
- Identifying and arranging for the assignment of internal and external project staffing.
- Managing projects in accordance with internal and accepted industry standard methodologies through the entire project lifecycle including estimation, initiation, planning, execution, and closing.
- Ensuring timely resolution of project and resource-related issues through appropriate channels and methods.
- Familiarity with available products, services, and technologies to ensure quality products and services that best meet the Department's needs are delivered.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies, principles, practices, techniques, and tools and the ability to employ that knowledge.
- Ability to facilitate, mediate, and resolve conflict.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and resources across several different business units.
- Ability to work independently and within teams.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Three years of project management and/or program management experience.
- Organizational Change Management Training and/or certification preferred.
- Possess reliable transportation to be able to work anywhere in the County as needed and required.
