At Terabase Energy, we develop an interconnected software and construction automation platform for large‑scale solar projects. Our team includes solar industry veterans and new engineers, designers, coders, product managers and sales professionals across multiple offices. We partner with project developers, owners and engineering & construction firms to design, optimize and build solar projects worldwide.
Job DescriptionAs the Project Manager of the Terafab Operations Group, you will report to the Head of Terafab Ops and work in tandem with the Construction Manager. Your responsibilities include planning and managing project deployments, building and tracking project budgets, reporting, and client communication. You will manage three to four concurrent deployments, conduct weekly meetings and site visits, manage project cost and schedule, develop client‑driven KPIs, and produce weekly progress reports.
Additional duties involve interfacing with subcontractors, participating in contractual negotiations, providing feedback to R&D/mfg, monitoring deployment team health, and ensuring clients have all safety and process documentation.
- Understand major KPI #1 – consistent production.
- Support customer engagements from booking to delivery, demonstrating operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Identify, build, and maintain relationships with clients and contractors, negotiate contracts, and ensure safe and efficient execution of services.
- Collaborate with other departments on operational requirements needed to meet customer deliverables and departmental priorities.
- Identify inefficient operational processes and training gaps and build plans to address them.
- Build and refine the Terafab official operations mobilization checklist.
- Maintain a complete understanding of our products and services.
- Identify and promote changes in Terabase's technology stack to increase operational efficiency.
- Actively feed back system deficiencies, quality issues, and reliability concerns to R&D and manufacturing.
- Understand major KPI #2 – happy customers.
- Work with the sales team to provide expanded services and support organic growth within existing accounts.
- Represent customer perspectives in product roadmap, technical support, and quality discussions.
- Develop, monitor, and track key performance indicators for each project according to operational efficiency objectives and customer success metrics.
- Circulate precise reports to stakeholders that accurately depict project health status.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, energy, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience as a project or operations manager in solar, renewable energy, heavy construction, or aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of PV plant components (modules, trackers, inverters, battery storage) is a plus.
- Experience with photogrammetry and drone image processing software such as Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, ODM, Drone Deploy, ArcGIS, Sim Active Correlator3D, Propeller, etc.
- Proficiency in project management tools/software such as MS Project, Salesforce, etc.
- Excellent time management and ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, customer relationship, and teamwork skills.
- Advanced or expert skill level in MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with cloud‑based platforms such as Amazon Work Spaces (AWS), JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience leading a small team and working with distributed contractors.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid (home/office) setup and with minimal supervision.
- Travel up to 50% of the time, primarily U.S.‑based project sites.
- Experience in construction trades, particularly utility‑scale solar construction.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
