Environmental Manager, Environmental Protection
LHH is working with a client who is seeking a Director of Environmental Affairs to lead environmental compliance, regulatory strategy, and risk management across a complex, multi‑state operation. This is a high‑impact leadership role with responsibility for overseeing environmental programs across 60+ sites and leading a team of environmental professionals.
Please note: This is an onsite role (Monday–Thursday in office, remote Fridays). Relocation assistance is available. Sponsorship is not available at this time.
Key Responsibilities- Lead environmental compliance efforts across multiple sites and jurisdictions
- Oversee permitting, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting
- Manage environmental remediation projects and vendor partnerships
- Serve as escalation point for environmental incidents and spill response
- Support M&A activity through environmental due diligence and site integration
- Develop and enhance environmental programs, policies, and procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of environmental professionals
- Partner cross‑functionally with legal, operations, and leadership teams
- 12+ years of environmental experience, including leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and multi‑site regulatory compliance
- Experience in regulated industries (transportation, logistics, maritime, industrial, etc.)
- Proven ability to manage audits, remediation, and compliance programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
Base salary range: $150,000 – $220,000
, based on experience and qualifications. Eligible for an annual bonus up to 30%, tied to individual and company performance.
