Position: Sr Consultant, Corp Strategy (NF)

Senior Consultant, Corporate Strategy

Nationwide seeks a passionate strategic thinker to advise executive leadership across Property & Casualty, Financial Services, and Corporate Development. The role supports Nationwide Financial Services, focusing on the Annuity and Investment Management Group, turning business results, customer and advisor insights, and leadership perspectives into clear strategies and recommendations for senior leaders.

The position can be performed hybrid from the Columbus, OH campus or remotely based on candidate location.

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization;
Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

Annual salary range: $149,000 – $262,000. Targeted range for this role: $149,000 – $223,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business leaders to identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic opportunities, including organic growth, new business lines, and operating model redesign.
  • Lead strategic projects for the Office of the CEO, Management Committee, or business unit leadership teams, determining where to play, how to win, and necessary trade‑offs.
  • Organize, facilitate, and lead cross‑functional project teams to drive business results.
  • Advise on the corporate or business‑level strategy planning process, producing a three‑year strategic plan tied to financial implications.
  • Translate strategic plans into operational plans and monitor their execution.
  • Interpret financial, statistical, and other data to assess impact and efficacy of strategies.
  • Prepare and communicate evaluation findings and recommendations to all levels of management, including the Board of Directors, OCEO, and business unit leadership teams.
  • Establish and maintain external relationships with industry specialists and thought leaders to foster internal innovation.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of the department and personal development of associates.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Typical Skills and Experiences
  • Education
    :
    Demonstrated academic success. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience
    :
    Significant leadership experience with strategic projects from a top‑tier consulting firm or a Fortune 100 strategy planning group. Proven business and industry knowledge; insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Skills
    :
    Excellent problem‑solving, structuring, and articulation of complex issues. Strong presentation and written communication skills. Ability to provide impactful advice, build partnerships, and manage large, complex projects.
  • Competency in strategy planning, project management tools, scope definition, time management, cost analysis, risk assessment, and resource management.
  • Leadership abilities to inspire and develop high‑performing project teams.
Reporting

Reports to the Associate Vice President or Vice President, Strategic Planning. May lead teams of 2–15 people.
