Job OverviewThe Product Development Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers, guiding the functional strategy and execution to meet business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, competitor offerings, and the commercial direction of the business. The manager directs budgeting, planning, policy formulation, and future strategy for the area(s) and bears full responsibility for people management, budgeting, performance evaluation and other HR duties.
Responsibilities- People Management: Manage a global team of 20+ staff, including Analysts, Data Engineers, and Program Managers, dedicated to the Firmwide Corporate Action Capability.
- Strategic Transformation: Drive the transformation of firmwide Corporate Action capability by enhancing internal systems in line with emerging industry standards, business demand, and the wider MRD platform architecture.
- Stakeholder Management: Expertly manage diverse stakeholders and lead multi‑year transformation programs.
- Program Management: Oversee budget management, Book of Work management, and deliver phased return on investment.
- Corporate Actions Expertise: Provide expert knowledge in Corporate Actions across one or more of Custody, Fund Services, Markets, and Wealth.
- Industry Standards: Ensure familiarity with SWIFT 15022/20022 and state‑of‑the‑art Corporate Action Processing.
- Data Governance: Apply strong understanding of Data Governance principles to all product and data initiatives.
- Technology Regulation: Possess strong understanding of technology regulation relevant to financial services.
- 15+ years of experience, including 8–10+ years managerial experience.
- Proven track record of successfully managing in a large and complex business.
- Intellectual curiosity, analytical and conceptual thinker.
- Proactively seeks and develops new opportunities.
- Thorough financial acumen and P&L management experience.
- Excellent analytical, interpretive and problem‑solving skills.
- Track record of bringing diverse groups toward common goals.
- Ability to maintain momentum and minimize client and employee attrition.
- Strong people‑management skills with ability to motivate large teams and drive results.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with senior members of an organization.
- Project management skills with experience leading large cross‑functional initiatives.
- Change agent who encourages and embraces innovative ideas and solutions.
- Bachelor’s or University degree;
Master’s degree preferred and managerial experience.
