Job Description SummaryThe Regional Student Disability Services Assistant Director is a member of the Miller Center for Disability Services leadership team. This position is responsible for implementing reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities and leading accessibility initiatives in collaboration with campus partners. The position reports to the Miller Center Director and has a dotted reporting line to the Regional Senior Assistant Dean.
Essential Duties- Oversees daily office operations for the Regional campus in partnership with the Miller Center Director.
- Assists the Miller Center Director with staff training and supervision, develops and implements disability accommodation procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of disability law and accessibility best practices.
- Serves on university committees and work groups to promote disability access and inclusion.
- Provides database administration for the Miller Center electronic case management system AIM (Access Information Management).
- Oversees administration of accommodated testing upon faculty request.
- Oversees process to ensure advance planning of accessible course material for students with vision and hearing disabilities.
- Provides ongoing case management and advocacy for approximately 250-500 registered students with disabilities.
- Coordinates campus‑wide programming to promote disability access and inclusion.
- Responds to faculty inquiries regarding procedures and best practices for providing student accommodations, other duties as assigned.
- Engages with diverse individuals in a culturally conscious manner.
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field, at least 3 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Direct experience with AIM (Access Information Management)
- Prior experience working in a college disability service office
- Written, verbal and interpersonal proficiency
- Knowledge of computers and office applications
- Knowledge of related state and federal laws (e.g., ADA)
- Ability to work independently
- Proven ability to support all students
