Job Description Summary
The Advanced Nuclear Lead Project Manager supports the Project Director in planning and executing contracts for the design and construction of new nuclear power plants, managing quality, cost, and schedule, and overseeing project administration and configuration management of documentation.
Essential Responsibilities- Ensure on‑time project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project activities and resources.
- Assist the Project Director in organizing project cost structure in Oracle ERP.
- Participate in customer, internal, and/or supplier project kick‑off meetings and support coordination of such meetings.
- Develop and maintain a project roster, assign and monitor timely completion of project related training activities.
- Support the development and issuance of the Project Management Plan and related project plans and procedures; promote implementation across the project team.
- Support development and deployment of project infrastructure and tools.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. government requirements.
- Coordinate project activities; monitor and control progress on deliverables.
- Ensure deliverables conform to contract and project requirements.
- Organize and archive project correspondence and records per the Project Configuration Management Plan.
- Lead, draft, and issue meeting notes, action item lists, and progress reports.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 2 years managing projects (nuclear preferred, but other large‑scale energy projects acceptable).
- Ability to travel 25% domestic and international.
- Strong organizational skills related to project execution.
- Experience with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) designs (desired).
- Knowledge of the power industry, customer, and competitive environment.
- Financial control and budgeting knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, high motivation, integrity, and self‑confidence.
- Initiative, independent work, and influence over others.
- Extreme attention to detail, follow‑up, highly organized.
- Ability to balance workload under short deadlines and changing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Process orientation approach to work.
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM.
- Fundamental-level financial or accounting knowledge.
- Six Sigma Training (BB, DFSS, etc.) for GE employees.
The preferred location is GE Vernova Headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Highly qualified remote candidates may be considered. This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information; final offers contingent on obtaining authorization from the U.S. Government.
