Position: Strategic Growth Director - PMCM Ireland

Overview

WSP is a leading consultancy in the planning, design and delivery of transport and infrastructure solutions that support sustainable growth worldwide. We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Strategic Growth Director to establish and grow the PMCM business in Ireland. The role will be based primarily in our new Dublin office with travel across Ireland and occasional visits to the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the PMCM Ireland Growth Strategy aligned with regional and global objectives.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across key sectors including Rail, Highways, Water, Energy, and Local Government.
  • Expand WSP’s presence by leveraging existing client relationships and establishing new strategic connections.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of senior client relationships across Ireland, including TII, NTA, Irish Rail, Uisce Éireann, and Local Authorities.
  • Lead a structured key account management framework, setting and delivering annual account targets.
  • Represent WSP at industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Establish strategic partnerships to support pipeline growth and capability enhancement.
  • Collaborate with PMCM Group Directors and Sector Leads to align resource planning with market demand.
  • Ensure a robust and sustainable pipeline of opportunities across Ireland.
  • Build the PMCM resource capacity and capability in Belfast and Dublin to support project portfolio delivery.
  • Support the PMCM Business Unit Managing Director in achieving agreed pipeline and profit targets.
  • Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to high‑performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development.
About You

You are an experienced leader with a strong track record in infrastructure delivery and business growth, combined with deep market insight and exceptional relationship‑building skills.

  • Established network within the Irish infrastructure market.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Proactive and solutions‑focused, with strong risk awareness and problem‑solving capabilities.
Professional Experience & Accreditations (Essential)
  • Significant leadership experience in a client‑facing environment.
  • Approx. 20 years’ experience delivering major infrastructure projects (typically €50m+).
  • Proven expertise in rail and/or large‑scale infrastructure programmes.
  • Strong commercial and contract management experience (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, COE).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive business outcomes.
  • Degree in Engineering or Project Management.
  • Chartered status in a relevant discipline.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., APM, ICE, IET).
Professional Experience & Accreditations (Desirable)
  • Experience in water sector project delivery.
  • Multi‑sector client account management experience within Ireland.
