Organization:
North Carolina Asian Americans Together (NCAAT) and NCAAT in Action (NCAATIA). This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $125,000 to $150,000 with benefits.
Location:
Main office in Raleigh, NC with a hybrid arrangement; remote work may be available based on team needs and priorities for 2026. Occasional travel across the Triangle and other parts of the state is required.

Position:Chief of Staff
NCAAT is seeking a full-time Chief of Staff to lead and oversee individuals who manage teams of community organizers, policy advocates, communications professionals, and voter specialists. The Chief of Staff will ensure each team has clarity of role and vision to address issues, develop campaigns that build collective power, foster leadership, and increase representation of Asian American communities across North Carolina.
The role requires strong management skills, the ability to troubleshoot challenges, and a deep understanding of resource allocation, effective time management, and fostering partnerships within multiracial and multiethnic coalitions. Reporting to the Executive Director and a member of the Executive Team, the candidate should be well-versed in best practices for project and team management; create a culture of respect and belonging;
and foster a leadership style rooted in equity, diversity, and inclusion. The role oversees up to four direct reports and aims to guide and empower staff to build stronger connectivity, cohesion, and collaboration, reflecting the mission and values of NCAAT.
Key focus areas include managing Executive Director time, facilitating interdepartmental communication, and serving as an impartial broker when the ED needs a wide-ranging view from a confidant and partner while staying above the fray.
Role Responsibilities- Support the Executive Director on strategic leadership, prioritization, and communication
- Serve as a trusted thought partner, confidant, and problem-solver
- Serve as the “go-to” when immediate issues arise and propose implementable solutions
- Elevate strategic decision points, ensuring responsive decision-making
- Steer and advise on where the Executive Director’s time should be dedicated
- Collaborate with the ED’s Executive Assistant to manage competing priorities and meeting requests
- Accompany or represent ED at internal and external meetings to stay up to date
- Support organization-wide meetings and efforts to implement the ED’s vision and priorities for team culture and operations
- Lead and guide the staff while supervising Senior Directors and program leads
- Directly supervise Senior Directors and program leads with a focus on collaboration and results
- Clarify each staff member’s role in implementing the organization’s vision
- Support internal communication and staff engagement opportunities
- Manage staff performance and development; oversee consultants as needed
- Foster a culture of accountability and high performance
- Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration and set high standards for the team
