Job Summary

Gate Way Community College is seeking a Project Manager (Member Engagement) for its STEAM-focused Makerspace (PHOENIX FORGE) in downtown Phoenix. The 22,500-square-foot facility serves the public, students, faculty, and MCCCD staff. Under the supervision of the Project Manager Senior (Director), the role leads the Member Services area, manages day-to-day operations, space use, and programming, and serves as the primary contact for messaging related to makerspace activities.

The position acts as a link between the makerspace, members, and community partners.

Campus Location: 535 W Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ 85003

Essential Functions
  • Oversees Member Services, develops policies and processes, manages schedules and overall needs, maintains EZFacility software (member records, reservations, scheduling, billing), and manages member access control.
  • Monitors messaging/communication platforms (email, social media, Google Business Profile) and coordinates with College Marketing to ensure branding consistency.
  • Plans and coordinates 10–12 special events per year, including scheduling, messaging, attendance tracking, vendor coordination, and reporting.
  • Supervises up to 4 part-time staff; participates in hiring and performance management; performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, or public administration and two (2) years of journey-level project management coordination experience, including preparing reports, maintaining records, tracking budgets, conducting research, and assisting with project communications.

    OR

    An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job, as described above, may be considered.
